About Us

Unionville Ice Hockey Club Philosophy

The Unionville Ice Hockey Club believes that by playing ice hockey on our teams, our sons and daughters will learn to enjoy ice hockey as a life long sport. In doing so, they will develop outstanding character and sportsmanship.

By practicing and playing ice hockey, they will grow as athletes, developing strength, speed and agility. They will also learn how to lead and work together with their team, gaining confidence in their selves and their teammates.

They will learn strategy and how to win on the ice by accepting and respecting thoughtful coaching.

They will learn to be proud by representing Unionville Schools before, during and after games.

The Unionville Ice Hockey Club is organized in a way that develops ice hockey teams from beginners through champions. Our middle school program is designed to build skills and provide a sustainable pool of experienced, dedicated players to our high school programs.

Our Middle School Blue team’s primary purpose is to teach fundamental skills and teamwork. We welcome all players. We believe the best way to do this is by playing hockey. Therefore, this team will focus on giving each player as much game time as possible.

Our Middle School Gold team’s primary purpose is to teach experienced players how to work together to achieve success. We believe the best way to do this is by playing in a competitive environment. In doing so, we prepare these players for high school hockey.

Our High School Boys Junior Varsity team’s primary purpose is to develop a pool of talent for Varsity level hockey. We believe the best way to do this is by giving these players substantial time in competitive team play.

Our High School Girls Varsity team’s primary purpose is to play ice hockey at the highest level of competition in our league. We expect to win, but won’t compromise our values or integrity to do so.

Our High School Boys Varsity team’s primary purpose is to play ice hockey at the highest level of competition in our league. Selection to the Varsity team is an honor and is not a guarantee. We expect to win, but won’t compromise our values or integrity to do so.
